The Lower Laguna Madre estuary system is a sportsman's paradise.  It's famous for it's skinny waters.  In fact, there is no other place on the Texas coast with flats fishing that can compare.  Here you will find remarkable clear water, flats that stretch as far as you can see and fish, lots of fish.  Check out the satellite views of the area.

The Lower Laguna Madre is expanse with shallow water bays and white sand shorelines.  Perfect for sight casting with light tackle for catching redfish and speckled trout.  The shallow waters make it excellent for fly casting floating lines.
  Light tackle fisherman have excellent success with gold spoons, topwaters & Gulps.  Many times the fish are down in the grass, be sure to bring an assortment of weedless lures, hooks & jig heads.

Bait fisherman will have success casting hi lo rigs into the many potholes or sloughs.  Big reds and speckled trout will key in on big bait placed in front of them.  Cast bait rigs into potholes and reel up the slack as the boat drifts closer, pick up and cast again.  Or find a deep channel off the intra coastal to set an anchor and set lines.

Kayak fishing South Texas is hard to beat.  Float across a seemingly endless flat system. See south Texas landscape still in it's undisturbed state, this is truly a super, natural experience.  Watch as fish swim right up to the kayak providing outstanding sightcasting or photo opportunities.
